In England, very few upsets in Division I. Perhaps the greatest surprise came at the Stadium of Light, where Sunderland didn't go down. Nor did they win, lose, or draw. The game against Fulham was abandoned during the first half, owing to a snow-storm. Manchester B beat Arsenal, Chelsea came from behind to better West Ham, so as you were at the top. A couple of surprises in Division II, Sheffield W lost 2:0 at Crewe (30 upset points) and Leicester pipped Palace 2:0 (35). We still don't know the identities of any promoted or relegated clubs. Except Reading, who are still on course to score more points than anyone ever in Division II.
A couple of upsets in Scotland, Livingston inflicted a 2:1 defeat on Inverness (45 upset points), but still look doomed. Falkirk beat Dundee U 1:0 (33). Brechin will go down from Division B to Division C.
In European upsets, it was:
PAOK - AEK 2:1 (37)
Sparta Prague - Slavia Prague 2:1 (36)
Werder Bremen - Bayern Munich 3:0 (34)
Monano - Marseille 1:0 (33)
Santander - Barcelona 2:2 (17)
In the betting, Plymouth scraped a draw (+0.75), but Marseille and Man City both lost. With very few matches this mid-week, we see no value in placing any bets, so will remain at -2.5/12 on the month.
