Update 240306

In the English domestic cup, three of the four semi-finalists are known. West Ham played their top side, and won 2:1 at Man City. Chelsea won a 1:0 bore against Newcastle, while Charlton and Middlesbrough fought out a 0:0 tie, so they'll replay at the Riverside when Boro next have a free week, which is probably in the middle of September. Liverpool won a squeaker at Birmingham, (SEVEN) 7:0. The semi-final draw pits Chelsea and Liverpool together for the 995th time this year, that match looks set to be played at Old Trafford; Charlton or Boro will face West Ham at that well-known London ground Villa Park.

More importantly, Leeds' draw means that Reading can seal their promotion to Division I with a win to-morrow. Gretna may have beaten them to the punch, but going up before the clocks go forward is a major achievement.

Another draw for Real Madrid allows Barcelona to extend their lead in La Liga. Santander lost, but Zaragoza (0.55) and AZ (0.70) got draws, so it's a -0.25 on the mid-week, -3.85/25.5 on the month. This week-end is the last of the month, and April will end on the weekend of 22-3 April. That's except for Division II, which will finish with the Easter Monday programme.

For this week-end:
Seville - Valencia (2.80 / 3.10)
Sheffield Utd - Southampton (4.60 / 3.40)
Hibs - Inverness CT (3.65 / 3.20)
